Kamikochi, which roughly means “where gods descend” is a popular resort in the northern Japan Alps, about three hours from Tokyo.
Japan is the land of so many mountains and natures, but this area is so special and apart from many others.
It is all protected from outside world that you can’t enter the area using a private car. When the snow is melt on late April, the mountain opens for tourists, and only way you can enter is either taking a bus or private taxies.
Once you enter, the emerald green forests and crystal clear rivers welcomes you.
There we had a pre-wedding session for the couple of Nagoya, in nature walk style.
They met in a camping trip with mutual friends, and if wanted to have their wedding photography taken with nature, the best location with the nature.
Out photo session started at one of about 15 hotels in the area.
The closest city from Kamikochi is Matsumoto, about one hour away by bus. If you want to have a photo session with a wedding dress on, booking a hotel is highly recommend, at least to have a place to change your outfits.
And yes, you end up walking 5 - 10km all with your feet.
There are taxi service available in the area, but they can only drive in very limited areas.
So yes, we had very fun hiking trip along the way.
