When autumn arrives in Japan, Lake Kawaguchiko becomes one of the most breathtaking places to capture love stories. With the vibrant colors of red and gold leaves, the calm waters of the lake, and the majestic Mount Fuji standing quietly in the distance, it’s a dream setting for couples from around the world.
A Honeymoon Session from Singapore

This lovely couple came all the way from Singapore to Japan for their honeymoon.
They reached out to us wanting to take wedding photos once again — this time, wearing the same dress the bride wore at their ceremony six months earlier.
We met early in the morning at 6:30 a.m., starting the day at their traditional ryokan, Kohansou, a lakeside inn famous for its rooms with panoramic views of Mount Fuji.
The morning light pouring through the window created a warm and intimate atmosphere, perfect for capturing the quiet moments of their honeymoon morning.
A Private Onsen with a View

Their room even had a private open-air onsen (hot spring bath). As the steam rose into the crisp mountain air, we took a few gentle shots of them relaxing — a moment of peace before heading out for the day.
It was one of those experiences that felt uniquely Japanese, blending calm, nature, and romance.
Starting the Photoshoot Around the Lake

By 9:30 a.m., we left the inn and began our outdoor session around the lake.
The autumn leaves were at their peak — Kawaguchiko’s fall colors usually appear about ten days earlier than in Tokyo, and on this November 20th, the trees were glowing with perfect reds and oranges.
Our first stop was a lakeside park with a quiet walking path and rows of colorful trees.
The reflection of the mountains on the calm water made it a peaceful and romantic scene, perfect for wedding portraits.
One of our favorite stops during the shoot was this small boat dock along Lake Kawaguchiko.
The pastel-colored boats and calm reflections created a charming and nostalgic backdrop, capturing the warmth of the couple’s honeymoon morning before Mount Fuji reappeared later in the day.
As we continued walking along the riverside of Lake Kawaguchiko, the maple trees had just begun to turn into shades of red and orange.
We paused here to capture a quiet moment beneath the autumn leaves — a blend of warmth and elegance that perfectly reflected their calm connection.
The lake shimmered softly in the background, and even without Mount Fuji in sight, the beauty of the season surrounded them completely.
Our next stop was the famous Momiji Tunnel — a scenic road lined with maple trees whose branches stretch over the path, forming a glowing tunnel of red and orange leaves.
Walking beneath this canopy felt like stepping into a painting. The couple paused here to enjoy the view, surrounded by the soft light filtering through the autumn colors.
Even without the sight of Mount Fuji, this spot perfectly captured the quiet beauty of the season at Lake Kawaguchiko.
The Unpredictable Mount Fuji

One important thing to remember when planning a photoshoot with Mount Fuji is that the mountain can be shy — even on clear days, it sometimes hides behind clouds.
On this morning, Fuji was visible at sunrise, but by 10 a.m., it had disappeared behind a layer of clouds.
Luckily, after several hours of shooting around the lake — through maple tunnels, quiet boat docks, and fields of golden pampas grass — the clouds finally cleared.
Around 1 p.m., just before wrapping up, Mount Fuji appeared once again.
We captured a few last frames of the couple with Japan’s most iconic mountain behind them.
