A Family-Centered Celebration in the Heart of Tokyo
We were honored to be contacted by a couple celebrating their 8th wedding anniversary, with a request for a family photo session around the iconic Tokyo Station area.
Joining them on this special day were their two daughters and both sets of parents — a total of eight family members. What made it even more meaningful was that the groom’s parents had flown all the way from France just for this session.
A Long-Awaited Moment for a Globally Active Couple

Due to their busy international careers — frequently traveling between Germany, France, and Singapore — the couple hadn’t had a chance to hold a wedding ceremony.
This year, their schedules finally aligned. And just in time: the groom’s parents were also able to take an extended trip from France to Japan. It was the perfect opportunity to create something special as a family.
A Luxurious Start at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo

The day began with preparations at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, where the couple had stayed the night before. With sweeping views of the Tokyo skyline from their suite, the bride and her two daughters got ready together, enjoying a relaxed and heartwarming time.
Fun preparation time at their hotel room. Their local florist prepared bouquets matching the color with children's dress. How lovely.
Why Tokyo Station Was the Chosen Spot

The groom works near Meiji Yasuda Life Building, just steps from Tokyo Station. Over the years, he often saw couples taking wedding photos in the area after work and thought,
"Maybe one day, that could be us."
That vision came true this day, as we strolled through the area and captured elegant portraits in front of the iconic red-brick station and historic surroundings.
What Makes Tokyo Station Perfect for Wedding Photos?
Tokyo Station is one of the most popular wedding photo spots in Japan, and for good reason:
The historic red-brick architecture offers a timeless, European feel that perfectly complements wedding attire.
The station is beautifully illuminated at night, creating a romantic atmosphere.
Nearby, you'll find diverse shooting locations, from tree-lined boulevards to modern cityscapes — all within walking distance.
And for couples from abroad, Tokyo Station is instantly recognizable, making it a symbolic backdrop for a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
To avoid the weekend crowd — when it’s not uncommon to see five or more couples doing photoshoots — we scheduled our session for a weekday at around 4 p.m., during golden hour.
Transitioning to a More Intimate Moment

After about 45 minutes of joyful group portraits, it became clear that the little ones were starting to run out of steam. With cheeks slightly flushed and attention drifting elsewhere, they began to signal that it was snack time — a universal sign that our family portion of the session was nearing its end.
At that point, the children and all four grandparents headed back home, giving them a chance to rest and refuel after their big day in the city.
With the crowd gone and the light softening toward golden hour, we entered the second chapter of the shoot — a more intimate time, just for the couple.
Finally, after eight years of marriage, they had a moment to focus entirely on each other. This was the part of the day dedicated solely to the two of them — a well-earned celebration of their journey, their love, and everything that had brought them to this moment.
A Nighttime Walk Through the Streets of Kagurazaka

For the final chapter of their session, we moved to Kagurazaka — a charming neighborhood often called “Little Paris” due to its cobblestone alleys, staircases, and sloped lanes reminiscent of Montmartre.
Interestingly, around 6,000 French nationals live in this area, adding to its unique cultural blend. It felt like a fitting ending for a family that bridges Japan and France in both life and love.
